"Activity" for during labor??
I'm (finally) getting my hospital bag packed and one of the things on the list is an activity to do during labor. I am at a loss for an activity to bring. Playing cards? Maybe the portable DVD player? Any other ideas?

There is a TV in the room, I am hoping that will keep me busy enough. I really can't imagine anything else I would do while in pain!

LOL! You might not want to do anything! I didn't just wanted to relaxe and sleep and regret not doing it because my mom and sister kept on coming into the room to keep me company when my Dh would go down stairs to get food ar something.
Get sleep! It will be your last one for a while!

Never thought about an activity.... All I wanted to do was get some rest. The TV was on, but I just let DH control it. He ended up going to sleep too. Maybe this time, I'll suggest we bring some Uno cards

Listen to music. It will help relax you! Also ..try a birthing ball for before they give you an epidural (if you want it). It will help to relax you too!

That's what I thought too, but then I started thinking that I might get bored. Although I highly doubt that. And it was on the list of what to pack, so I was thinking I should bring something just in case. Maybe I'll just do the portable DVD player and/or a deck of cards. eta: I was already planning on bringing music, but didn't think that was really an activity.
