acupuncture recommendations/stories
Not sure if I believe it will help...but...
Can anyone share an acupuncture story and/or recommend an acupuncturist that deals with infertility patients? Looking in mid/eastern Suffolk county, doesn't matter south/north shore

My rec is in Nassau so won't help you much but maybe someone else who sees this.. I go to Andy Kaplan in RVC.
As far as acu goes... all I can say is I had 4 transfers and got pregnant in 3/4 of them. Is acupuncture to thank for that? who knows.... but it def can't hurt!!!!

I used Dr. Zhang in Stony brook. I highly recommend acupuncture when doing infertility treatments. While I have no proof, each time I did acupuncture during a cycle, I always got a bfp, the two times I did not my cycles failed. Here is the information for the place I used. A friend of my husbands wife used him as well so that's why I chose him. That, and I was able to go on Saturdays and up to I think 8pm on work nights.

He's 36, I think .. does that make sense for who you think you went to hs with?

I know a lot of girls who have had success with Dr. Perretta in East Meadow. I know it is Nassau, but she is close to Wantagh Parkway and she is worth it.

Thank you everyone so much for the recommendations!! I actually found someone through my insurance who is right down the road from my job, and I read some good reviews too. I went last night for the first time; I'm so impatient lol. Dr. Bin Xu. He has over 30yrs experience and he seemed extremely knowledgeable on all things acupuncture and fertility. He only did 4 points bc I had the IUI last week, he said the job this week is just to relax and calm the body so it can do its job. I felt great afterwards, so relaxed!!! I think I have a good feeling about this :)

I am glad you enjoyed your session. I loved how I felt after mine. I also saw Andy Kaplan in RVC. I just wanted to share my acu success story. I started acu when I started my stims. I went 2x a week and he based his points on my monitoring appts (he asked how my lining was and how many follies i had and their sizes). I had one session the day after my transfer and then once a aweek after that mostly for relaxation. After my BFP I continued to go once a week until about 8 weeks.
Before I did acu my lining was never thicker than a 6. My one and only cycle with acu my lining was over 9! Is acu what helped? who knows.
Good luck with your cycle.
ETA: he never pushed herbs or anything else. he said that you never know how the herbs will interact with all the meds i was taking.

I called my insurance company (Oxf freedom) just to double check. They covered acu for my migraines, BUT they don't cover it for IF  They gave me a list of doctors that were contracted with them and give a discounted rate even though it wasn't covered by my ins.

Your acupunturist maybe able to work with you. I would call to see if they can bill it as migraines only.

Loved Andy Kaplan. I used him throughout my ivf cycle and pregnancy. I am about to start again b/c we are contemplating starting an fet. Not sure what it really does in terms of IF but definitely helped decrease anxiety. Good luck!!!
