Admin Manager and Associates Degree...

I am an Admin Manager and love my job. I know it won't help me know but do you think down the line an Admin Associates Degree will help in anyway?

Or is it a waste of $$ and time?

I am not even sure how long I will be working.

Re: Admin Manager and Associates Degree...

I think it would definately help if you look for a new job. I went to Katharine Gibbs and got an associates degreen in Business Administration. I started as an Admin assistant and now am an Executive Assistant the basic difference is working for a very senior partner for a high profile firm as opposed to answering a bunch of calls and helping a whole bunch of people. I defintely know that Gibbs helped me because I was trained to be an Exec. assistant. Usually you have to have years of experience before you can become one (usually), but it only took me one year. Not to mention, the pay is MUCH better and the job is much more interesting than a "secretary".

If you go for a degree go for something else.

I don't think that degree would help you if you already have the experience.

I think it would help you get a call. If I was looking at 2 resumes with equal experience, I would call the one with the degree first.

After that it's all in how you interview & your experience, if you are in one place for a long time (can work for & against you).
