Adult food spinoff
I find myself having to put it in her mouth with my own hand - how about the rest of you? If I put a few pieces on the tray she shoves them all in her mouth at the same time. How do you feed them people food?

I still do that at times, especially when it's really messy stuff or liquidity like yogurt or cereal. My little darling refused to wear a bib starting at 12 months. She won't eat meat or veggies sometimes, so i hide it in cheese and pop it right in.
ETA: Gianna slowed stuffing her face with food, but i only put 1-2 pieces on her tray at a time for her to eat.

I put one piece at a time on his highchair tray. If it is something he can not hold himself (rice, etc.) that I feed him.

She tears off her bibs all the time, to the point she almost chokes herself - so bibs are out of the question . I'll try one to two pieces. Even with puffs...she shoves about 5 in at a time, then goes to pick up more... And she just started throwing things off the tray too.

I used to give him double of what I expect him to eat. I figure since 1/2 ends up all over the place, he is still getting what he should eat.
But, I have to tell you. This boy does not let any food escape. Just a few pieces. He is so good at getting it in his mouth and if it falls out, he tries again.

Re: Adult food spinoff
He's gotten much better at not shoving too much in there but I still have to watch him. If he's tired or taking too long I will feed him myself if we're in a hurry (Hmm when aren't we?!)
he used to store cheerios in his cheeks and keep putting whatever was on his tray in his mouth. I just give a little at at time when he does this.
I haven't done real rice yet bc I don't know how to feed it to him LOL.

I can only put a few piece at a time on the tray...or she will shove them all in. She can stuff about 5 puffs into that tiny mouth of hers...and then she has a handful ready in her hand to shove in more

Re: Adult food spinoff
It's just recently that Ava has stopped stuffing her face. I definitely had to only give her one or two pieces at a time for a long time. But it was the safest thing to do.

I have to feed DS with my fingers too. If I put puffs on his try he wants them all in his mouth one after the other so I have to limit the amt I give him. Cheese he eats by the fistfull!
