advice for a newbie about morning sickness?
girls, i am ONLY 4w3d prego and i am already having these awful waves of nausea, mostly in the morning (i guess it really is "morning" sickness for me right now). when i get them i feel like i'm going to pass out and i have to stop everything i'm doing. this morning i needed to sit in the middle of the floor at work because the room was spinning . and no one knows i'm prego so they probably think i'm completely nuts
am i doomed to have terrible morning sickness since i have it so early???
any tips for how to control this??
THANKS

Re: advice for a newbie about morning sickness?
I'm sorry your started so early, mine didn't till 6 weeks. When you go to your doc ask about B6 vitamin and Unisom. My doc told me to take 1/2 a Unisom and a B6 vitamin at night and it has totally helped me in the morning, in fact it has helped all day. Every days seems to get a little bit better. Also peppermint candies/gum helps me too.

Re: advice for a newbie about morning sickness?
Feel better sweetie-I started early too-my suggestion is to eat what you feel for. This helped me for a little while. As my doc explained sometimes its the levels of hormones and how our bodies react to them. All women are different and tolerate the hormones well some of us are not so lucky. Hopefully it passes.
If it continues talk to your doc. My OB said that the longer you wait the harder it can be to get under control so if it becomes unbareable dont be afaird to talk to your doc.

Re: advice for a newbie about morning sickness?
mine just started- 6 weeks to the day pretty much... It hits me later in the morning and lasts pretty much all day-unless i manage to eat something filling then it temporarily goes away..
Just try to keep snacking-crackers,toast, pretzels, whatever you can keep down! Ginger ale has been helping me too..
Hope you feel better

Re: advice for a newbie about morning sickness?
I had bad nausea starting around 4 weeks -much earlier than others seemed to. I wasn't throwing up but I had nausea basically all day long. Eat some saltines when you first wake up. Try to keep a little bit in your stomach helps.
I found sipping ginerale, water with lemon, ice pops, and nibbling on whatever I could eat helped. Try not to let your stomach get too empty as it makes it worse.

Re: advice for a newbie about morning sickness?
saltines worked, but then I ran out and put graham crackers next to my bed and they were great. It's all about finding anything that you can keep eating. Most people get it when they have an empty stomach.
I also found tortilla chips helped :D
