Advice-Shipping & Packaging a large item

Ok, I'm a frequent ebay seller. I have a baby jumperoo that I posted on LIF's parenting board, but I did a search on ebay and saw resale I could get a decent amount of dough. I rarely ship big items.

Question, how would you go about shipping a thing like that? Take it all apart and put it in a box? Where would I get a really large box to fit it? It seems a lot of people are able to ship it for $20. Its more awkward than anything. I would also offer local pick-up as a option.

I would normally do the craigslist route, but I could get over $50 for this item and we could certainly used the money.

Thanks!

I would disesemble it, include the instructions (if you don't have the booklet, I'm sure you can download from the web).

As for a box, I recall that my jumperoo came in a rather narrow box, which I'm sure you can find at the UPS store or a Mail Boxes Etc type place.

hmm, I've never used UPS. I'll have to see generally how much they charge.

Thanks!! I may list it this weekend then.

Re: Advice-Shipping & Packaging a large item

Usps has all kinds of surcharges now over oversized packages

I had to mail something to ca- usps wanted $20 for parcel post

Ups wanted $10 and it there in 2 days

I still use usps for most of my shipping but they are out of their mines on large items- not even heavy- just large boxes
