AF question for charting
I apologize in advance if this post contains TMI...just have a question regarding how to count the first day of AF.
For me, AF starts very light with spotting (its almost like nothing) for about 2 days then bame she is here full force.
Do I count the first day of very light spotting? OR the full force day?
I would think it would be the very first sign of her?
TIA..trying to chart when I am most fertile!
to all!

Re: AF question for charting
AF starts with appearance of blood flow.
Spotting is not considered AF.
From Fertility Friend: Spotting: Record "spotting" when you have any pink or dark red/brown spots that leave a small mark on your underwear or pantyliner or that you only see when you wipe. If it does not require a pad or tampon, record it as spotting rather than menses. Do not start a new chart until you have red flow.
Menses: When you record "menses" you can choose light, normal and heavy. Always start a new chart on your first day of menses. That is the first day that you have red blood flow that requires a pad or tampon. This is cycle day one.

Re: AF question for charting
I have the same problem. I am relying a lot on the OPK because I am anywhere from 21-28 days depending on when I start to chart......
I spot for like 2-3 days before I get the heavy flow....

Thanks for the info!! This is good! This means we didn't miss my fertile time yet
