affordable side-by-side double stroller for running errands?

Okay, DH is going to KILL me if I buy one more stroller! We just splurged on a double jogger that I LOOOVE but it's not practical for trips to the mall, errands, etc. I thought our SNS would be okay but I'm really not liking it so muchChat Icon

I'd love a double Maclaren but cannot justify the cost....although I did see some for around $200.

Does anyone have this Jeep double stroller? Feedback on it?

stroller

Any other side-by-side double stroller recos that aren't that expensive?

Yes, I have it and I think they go for $80 or something like that. I love how it folds taks up little space, but for running errands its hard getting around the mall (the aiels in the departments stores just aren't as wide) if I knew it was going to be such a pain I would of kept my front / back double stroller.

You don't like the SnS Chat Icon I grew to love mine obviously, so I won't be of any help. It just works well for us, I can't imagine taking the two of them to any store without it. And for some trips, I use my Peg with Lauren, and let Andrew walk.

Honestly, I am not a fan of side-by-sides, just for the sheer factor they are so wide and hard to get in and out of aisles. I borrowed my SIL's once and liked it, but prefer the tandem.... Anywho, the one I borrowed from my SIL is the Peg AriaTwin . It was really light and I liked it. I believe it is big money though.

How about looking on Craig's List for a used one? I also heard good things about the Combi Twin Savvy.

And this one reminds me of my umbrella stroller I love as well, just in a double:

Oh Teri! I wish you didn't need it NOW, or I'd give you my Mac! I'm hanging on to it just a bit longer, cause I know I'll use it in Disney in April.

My friend has the Combi. It's six months old and sagging horribly in the middle and has become a PITA to open and close. She said it's the worst stroller investment she's made.

My neighbors have the Jeep stroller and are very happy with it.

The Chicco looks very cute, and I am always happy with their products.

Good luck!

OMG I would totally LOVE a Maclaren! I wish we had someone to give us a hand-me-down Chat Icon

I checked out the Jeep today at BRU but it doesn't even have A basket - not a small one or anything, so that's out since I really need it for shopping and such.

Trish - ya know, it's what a feared would be a problem - Emily is ALWAYS wanting to get out and walk around now Chat Icon She was fine sitting in teh stroller at the mall, for a reasonable amount of time at least, but the second I stop with the SNS, she's standing up and then I don't realize, go to move again and she bumps her headChat Icon

oh - and my friend has a new Peg Aria she doesn't really like, and I was thinking of buying it off her, but it's practically new and one thing I don't think I'd like is the front bars - that'd be a PITA for my older toddler to get in and out of since I'd have to lift her, right? That's what is great about the Macs....she can climb in and out of herself.

I culd swear the front bars on the Peg come off. Am I remembering correctly!

Teri, the thing with the SnS is to always buckle Andrew in! I swear, the one time I didn't, my dad was pushing the stroller at the pool, stopped, then started again and Andrew went flying down and scraped his knees. I guess the fear of that happening made him always like to to be buckled. And even buckled, he can stand, but at least he can't fall off Chat Icon

Re: affordable side-by-side double stroller for running errands?

just bumping this up.....

I'm totally selling my SNS on Craig's list this week! I hate the thing, my dd even told me she hates it today tooChat Icon It's so easy to manuever but the jump seat just BEGs my toddler to stand up while I'm walking and she always hits herself, whether buckled in or notChat Icon

My friend bought a new double Aria that she's selling, I was going to take it off her hands, until I just saw TERRIBLE reviews for it on BRU's siteChat Icon They're horrible! So now I don't know what to do.

Does anyone have the cheaper of the twin Maclaren double strollers? The Triumph? I had a single Quest and loved it - but I can't spend $400 on another strollerChat Icon Chat Icon
