affordable south shore homes?
can anyone recommend any neighborhoods with good schools. thanks

I wouldn't categorize Sayville as "affordable". sure you can get a house for less than 400, but it will either be practically on the LIRR tracks or in desperate need of work.
then again, it depends what people consider affordable.

Lindenhurst is very nice and you can find some affordable homes in nice areas.

Look in Levittown. There are low priced capes available for $330k and up.
