Afraid of him falling out of the crib?
My son just started to climb on everything. He will be 10 months next week. He even climbed up, over and fell out of his exersaucer!!!
I am afraid he will fall out of his crib onto his hardwood floor. Am i being paranoid? Is there somehting i can buy to prevent this?

Have you already lowered the mattress?

Re: Afraid of him falling out of the crib?
My son was a early climber and we thought for sure he'd climb out of his crib and he is 2 now and hasn't yet. My crib was lowered since he was 6 months and pulling up. My railing is pretty high though so I am sure that helps. We also have a small area rug for some cushion right by his crib to cushion should he decide he will climb out.
If you are really nervous - they do sell those crib nets they put over the crib. My aunt used that because her son did climb out at 11 months.

Re: Afraid of him falling out of the crib?
The other morning I went into Jackson's nursery because I heard him over the monitor, and he was leaning over the front railing, trying to reach his teddy bear that he'd dropped on the floor. I almost had a heart attack. He was practically upside down about to fall out of the crib! The mattress is all the way down now (DH thought he'd lowered it all the way but I told him he didn't. It took this to happen for him to listen to me!)
Anyway, you can take the bumpers out if you haven't already. They can use them as a step to climb out.
