If all tissue is cleared from your uterus, you should be ovulating before your next AF.

I would guess you must because there are a few girls that got PG right away after a m/c

Re: After a M/c do you ovulate while waiting for AF?
Yup... if you miscarried naturally, your Dr. should be monitoring your blood levels to make sure the hcg went to zero. After your hormones go back down to zero your cycle will start again and you should ovulate before getting your first AF after the m/c (barring any other complications). With a D&C the tissue is removed directly so you should ovulate within a few weeks of having the operation. I know at least two girls (myself and sweetness) who conceived right after the miscarriage, before ever getting the first AF so YES you DO ovulate and if you don't want to get pregnant again so quickly, use protection!

Could the monitor be defective?

Re: After a M/c do you ovulate while waiting for AF?
Unfortunately, sometimes with a D&C your body doesn't cooperate as well as with a natural miscarriage. If it has been less than 25 days since the d&c, I would be patient...and temping.

Re: After a M/c do you ovulate while waiting for AF?
It could very well be that you are ovulating! I got pregnant about 6-7 days after my miscarriage, which means I must have ovulated pretty quickly, so it IS possible...

Re: After a M/c do you ovulate while waiting for AF?
As beth and michelle said, it is possible to conceive right after a natural m/c. I m/c'd naturally at 5 weeks, 5 days, my levels were down to zero in about a week. I started temping, and ovulated about 25 days into my cycle. If I waited a cycle to start trying, my next AF would have been at the 6 week mark after the m/c. So it is possible that you haven't ovulated yet.

Re: After a M/c do you ovulate while waiting for AF?
Just wanted to say that I was using the CBE too last month and never got peak fertility. It was high from like day 13 through day 24, then dropped to low. But based on my CM on day 25, we BD and I am now PG. So in my case, my CBE didn't detect the peak fertility that late in my cycle. It gave me peak fertility when I used it and I was PG, but didn't know!!

That's a good point, I forgot to add that.. about 10 days after my m/c I wanted to start tracking my cycle to determine when I was ovulating. I kept getting two faint lines on the OPK's that simply never went away, and never got a surge line. Turns out the OPK's were detecting the pregnancy... so it can get kind of complicated after an m/c, but overall, YES, you should ovulate before your first AF.

Re: After a M/c do you ovulate while waiting for AF?
Noel, I just wanted to add that I didn't get AF for 3 months after my m/c. I did have a d&c so that may affect things too.
I was sooooo ready for her to return, but be patient if she takes her time - it was very hard for me, so just know ahead of time that she may decide to be a real B and take her time about returning!
Sorry for your loss...
