After bouncy seat...
Kevin is outgrowing his bouncy seat but cannot yet hold up his head on his own (He's getting there, but not quite yet).
I've heard that exersaucers can lead to a delay in development because babies cannot see their legs when they are sitting in the toy but what else is there after the bouncy seat?
If you do have an exersaucer, which one do you recommend?

We always used it at 3-4 months! But deinitey waitg until he can keep his head up on his own, do lots of tummy time and within a week or 2 he will be on his way, Not sure which exersaucer to use ours is a few years old, I'm sure the newer moms can help in that dept, they know all the best products!!

Re: After bouncy seat...
Aidan was in his excersaucer at 3 1/2 months, but he always had excellent head control. At first he leaned al little towards the front but after two days he realized he could sit back and reach for things.
We had a Megasaucer, it was fine. There are some cool ones out now. But like with everything, anything new is exciting and eventually they get bored with it!
I heard about the walking delay due to not seeing feet too. We didn't leave him in there for hours on end so I don't think there is a real concern there. Aidan was walking at 11 months and loved his exersaucer!

The best thing you can do for muscle development is belly time. It's a natural progression to crawling.
We used the exersaucer when we didn't want him crawling around because we were cooking dinner, etc.

Re: After bouncy seat...
From what I've read its the walker that they're concerned with, not the exersaucer. How about a Bumbo seat?

Re: After bouncy seat...
Ive had both kids in the bouncy seat at 4-5 months. Emma was running at 12 months and Jeremy is already trying to take steps at 9 months. I think if you leave a kid in a sauser, walker, jumperoo for any length of time it COULD cause some delay but if it's a 20 minute break for yourself Im sure it will be ok. You could also put a Boppy around them so they can sit up supported (but of course be right there), Bumbos are great! Tummy time is also an excellent idea, a play gym is good. So many options!

Re: After bouncy seat...
I still use the swing and the einstein play mat for tummy time. He's rolling over now so tummy time turns into back time. I just spread a large blanket on the floor and let him do his thing. When I need some time to do things, I sit him in his high chair. I have the FP healthy high chair and it has toys attached to it.
