after C-section, did anyone else get the runs??????
I had a C-section a little less than 2 weeks ago. I am taking iron pills because I am anemic. Ordinariliy, I become very constipated from the iron pills but now I have diarrhea. I am already so weak from the surgery and the anemia and now the diarrhea is kicking my butt, no pun intended. Is this normal?  I checked my iron pills and they do not contain a stool softener or laxative. I usually take Colace along with iron but, of course, I am not doing that now that I have the runs!!!!

I did! I have to say that my stool was very soft for quite a few months afterwards, sorry to tell you.
Try eating bananas, and lots and lots of fiber.

I wish I had some diarreah after I had my c-section, I couldn't go to the bathroom, little pebbles would come out--lol (sorry for the TMI).
I would call your Dr if your concerned, maybe you have a little stomach virus.

I did too. It was pretty bad for me too since I also have an iron deficiency from another surgery and am now taking iron pills to supplement.
I remember it lasted a couple of weeks and can tell you it hasn't bothered me for awhile

This is exactly what happened to me!
Sorry if it's TMI but I would be afraid to go cuz it hurt too much!

I did, but only for the first few days right after the c/s. Actually, it was from the IV fluids they pumped into me for a few days. Every time I get an IV, I get the runs.

me too - I DREADED potty time. i'm 3 weeks postpartum now after csection and its just starting to regulate itself.

I had serious diarrhea! Between the stool softeners and the antibiotics they gave as a precaution I had the trots for nearly 2 weeks.

If you also have stomach pain, I would contact your doctor & get a stool sample. Anytime you have abdominal surgery you risk being infected with c-difficile. You would need a short course of antibiotics & its gone. I would call - it happened to me after gallbladder surgery & again w/ my c-section since once you have it, you are more likely to get it again if you have another abdominal surgery.
