After reading a thread on LIF, I introduced my 2 year old to boardgames today

It went really well as soon as he realized that the board is not a mat to sit on!!!! We have a kit that includes 4 games and he picked Candyland, which I thought would be best for him anyway. He got the whole concept of the game pieces and following the path to the end. The only thing he really did wrong was that when we picked a card and he had to move a game piece to the next color, he wanted to put the card that he pulled under the spot where he put the piece. So we played like that. I was pleasantly surprised and I did not expect the attention span that he had with this! We didn't compete. We played 4 people but every turn was his. He just had to move the next guy with each turn. Now he calls them “guys” like I do.

thats so wonderful, nobody ever plays board games anymore, i definitely plan on playing them with my girls
