After you signed the contract for your new home...

Did you stop looking on MLS? I can't stop - constantly afraid I am going to see something "better". Luckily in the past two months I have seen NOTHING even remotely close to our house but, like today - there is the first listing that I would have gone to check out and, I want to go to the open house just to see it. But, what then? I am crazy! What if you find something you like more after you sign the contract? Obviously it is too late so why do I keep doing this and when will I stop Chat Icon

ETA: YAY! Just realized that it isn't a new listing but, a re-list at a lower price of a house I already saw last year and passed on. Ok, now I feel better Chat Icon

I still check just because and haven't found a single one whose listing I liked better than the house we're in contract on.

But then again, the house we're in contract on, I wasn't too crazy about the listing either and just put it on our list to see just because we would be in the area already. Goes to show you that you shouldn't judge a house by its pictures Chat Icon

ditto. It strikes me every so often to look, even though I'm so happy and love my home...I just like to see what's going on and what price points houses are at......

its kinda like after I got married, I still looked at other men......Chat Icon

Re: After you signed the contract for your new home...

I sitll do this. I did this with my last house also. I think the reality is both houses (this and last) weren't 100% what I wanted so I always did look.

I have yet to see something though that would have been the right house for me, so I know this one was the best choice at that point. May be my forever home, may not be...But since I was looking for 3 years and my current house is the only one I even WANTED to bid on...I am sure it was a great choice for us since we are so picky.

I will not be happy when the day comes though, that a house I actually DO think is better comes on (price being similar that is). But the odds of that are slim, since we were very picky and also got a great deal on our house.

Yes. We lost 4 houses already, so even though we're in contract I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch. I still look at the MLS just in case this one were to fall through too.

I am in the same position, it reminds me of when I picked out and ordered my wedding dress, I refused to keep looking for fear I would find something better!

This time I cannot stop looking but thankfully I haven't found anything that comes close to my new house which I love.

I did for a little while. Than I saw a house that I thought would've been a better option for us and my heart sank. I took a ride past it and realized the location wasn't ideal. But after that feeling, I stopped looking.
