AG Pool..please don't move
If you have an AG pool do you have a separate dedicated electrical line for it or do you have it plugged into an existing outlet?
Our pool is being installed this week and I'm not sure if we need to have an electrician run a separate outlet for it or if we can plug it into our existing outdoor outlet.

Re: AG Pool..please don't move
I believe it's hard wired and not a normal plug/line. We had to have an electrician run a line. Ours is a semi inground but the pump is the same as for an AG

AG Pool..please don't move
We are in NJ but our town requires a separate dedicated line/outlet just for the pool and it has to be within a certain distance.

Same. An electrical inspector made sure everything was up to code after the electrical work was completed.

AG Pool..please don't move
We are having a pool installed in July, we were told we had to have the electric done and grounded. They send someone to inspect to be sure it’s to code. I have the paperwork I’ll look when I get home but I believe it says separate

You would absolutely need a dedicated line.

Re: AG Pool..please don't move
I'd check with your town. We have an inground pool and we don't have a dedicated outlet for our pool. It's just a regular outdoor outlet. We had inspectors here a ton of times for the pool and the gas heater permit and they didn't mention anything about it not being done to code. I just quickly browsed our town code for pools and the only mention of an outlet says it must be a grounded outlet.
