age appropriate toy question (safety question)
would you let your 15m baby, play with hotweels? Even though there is age 3+ chocking hazard. I guess because screws can get loose?
DS is obsessed with them, he'll run to the other side of the playground if another boy is playing with them and he'll just stand there and stare and stare. I tell him, "that's not your toy, you have other toys" He has no interest in his baby safe cars, and I don't know what to do. He's so disciplined doesn't really cry or anything but omg it breaks my heart how he just stares and stares. Its going to break me

We only just let DS start playing with these at 2. Before that we bought the small tonka trucks. I think that's the brand. They were nice and soft, and he couldn't bite the wheels off of them.

Re: age appropriate toy question (safety question)
If he's out of the stage of putting things in his mouth, I'd probably let him play with them if he showed interest.
My DS didn't start playing with them until about 18 mos, after he saw my friends son playing with them. He kept saying "Caw, Caw", and was really excited. After that, I couldn't keep them away from him.
If any of the tires seem loose or there are flimsy parts that could snap off easily, I toss them or save them for when he's older.

If he's out of the stage of putting things in his mouth,
he's definitely not... he's eating sand out of the sandbox as we speak

Re: age appropriate toy question (safety question)
We did. Then mil told dh ( she is a nurse) that he can chew the wheels off so dh put them away. I took them back out. Ds is 2.5 and we must have 1000 cars, trucks, motorcycle type things laying around thisbplace.

Little people also has a toy with smaler cars and a ramp that my boys loved! If hes still putting things in his mouth I would not let him play with hot wheels

Re: age appropriate toy question (safety question)
I never let DS1 play with them when he was that age. Now that he is 3 and there are literally hundreds of them around our house, I cannot keep them out of my 16 month old's hands. When I was able to avoid them, I chose the cars that the pp suggested.
