AHHHH...so I have some cramping and a bloody discharge so I called my dr's emergency number....
and none of my dr's (out of the 6 in the office) are on call tonight. It is some other dr from another office I have never heard of. W T F!!!! I am sure this is just the beginning of labor but what is the point of going to a large group practice and than none of those dr's being on call. Does that make sense? Does anyone else have this issue? And if I go into labor I dont want a dr I have never met or heard of delivering my baby, let alone performing a c-section in the case of an emergency. I don't know who this guy is from a hole in the wall.

Take comfort in knowing this happens more than you think...though I would be more concerned with how 6 drs. would all be unavailable.
A complete stranger delivered my first baby as my dr. was out of town [solo practice]. In the end, it really didn't matter, my baby was born and he did everything my own dr. would've done...say "push" and grabbed the baby on her way out and said: it's a girl!

Do they have an answering service? I am sure they MUST have an emergency number.

I did call THEIR answering service and they directed me to the other dr's answering service

My doctor is a solo practioner and I HATED the dr that I was referred to over Thanksgiving when I called them.
Hopefully the little bugger will wait until ONE of those 6 is around

Well I have called this dr's emergency service twice in the las 30 min. and he still has NOT called me back. I just want to let him know about my situation earlier in the week where I was leaking fluid. I dont think there is anything extra to worry about and he will probably just tell me to wait until my contractions come more regularly, but still.

I would call again and tell them that this is the 3rd time you are calling within 45 minutes. Say that you expect to speak with someone immediately. Even if they have to call one of your drs. Sorry you are going through this
