Air show at Jones Beach

Did anyone go today? I am going tomorrow and would love any advice/suggestions about timing and what to bring and where to go.

We are going tomorrow. We have seen it all day today...All the planed flew right over our house on the way to Jones Beach...it was soo cool...I am heading there with the camera tomorrow.
I did a search on the net and there is a schedule of what times all different things are happening. Blue Angels..which is the one I am most psyched to see are at 2:05!!

thanks. I got all the stuff online but I am curious to hear how crowded it was, if I should bring blankets or chairs, What time people got there and if they could find a place to sit, How was parking. I wanted to be as prepared as possible..

I agree go early. My great uncle was buried Memorial day weekend last year at Pinelawn....it was the most beautiful funeral. He was a World War II , Korean, and Vietnam War Vet, and was a POW 2 times in Germany and he passed away that week, and after the funeral which ended around 11am the Blue Angel Flew over us
Sorry, I still get the chills remembering that day

It was already packed by 10 am. So go get there early.

we went yesterday and all i can say is WOW! it was so crowded. bring water and some snacks. the food was really expensive. my friend is the flight engineer for the blue angel's fat albert airplane. we were lucky to have been sitting in the vip section. the lines for the bathroom were insane. you can still get a good seat if you were to leave now. there really isnt a bad seat. bring earplugs!

Just come over to my house. We live near Republic and you can see the Blue Angels fly over 2x a day as they come back fro the show!

We went to today and it was PACKED, even the sides of the road for miles was packed. Nice show, VERY hot. Poor dh did not want to wear sunscreen so now he is burnt! He will tan in 2 days though- , takes me at LEAST a week to see brown and not red! I am fine though. My face got burnt because I did not put anything on it.

We must have got there just in time because we easily found parking at field one but on the way home I could see cars parked everywhere along the road. It took us over an hour to get out of the parking lot.

We werent far from the water so we really weren't hot at all and we brought plenty of drinks and food so it cost us nothing. As for the bathroom, lets just say its a good thing I have a good bladder and that Ryan is a boy!
