Airlines cahnging flights for free if affected by Earl!
Or is it Effected by Earl? 
I was never good at English, so don't make fun of my posts over the next few days as I will be typing feverishly. 
Major airlines are allowing passengers to change flights FREE OF CHARGE if affected by Earl. I truly can't tell you if you need to change your flights. Even if NY isn't fully in trouble tomorrow (flight wise), there could be massive delays because of problems up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Bands have already gone ashore in NC and flights are being canceled down there. They will get it worse than us here, but any flights canceled change any other flights across the area.
Again, I can't tell you what to do. If you are worried, call your airline and see if you can go a day early or a day later. Maybe it isn't a concern.
I am not a airline person, so I don't know how 40 mph winds can change flights. (ISP will have more delays than JFK or LGA) But anyway, the entire East Coast is shutting down because Earl is freaking strong and freaking beautiful! I mean, um, freaking scary.

I fly out on Saturday morning, not sure yet if Earl's winds will still be around. I'll call the airline just to make sure.

My mom is on a plane right now from NY to Chicago. Southwest sent a text earlier saying that if she wanted to reschedule she could. We figured she might as well get out now, luckily she'll be through next week so hopefully things will calm down.
On another note, this is how I remember affect vs effect.... affect means to influence and effect means result

We are suppose to fly to Myrtle Beach tomorrow morning from LGA. I'm not sure what to do either.
