Alarm Systems
What company do you use for your alarm? We have priced out Slomins and it was much more than I really wanted to spend.
Also - how much did the initial hookup cost?

Re: Alarm Systems
ADT - A few hundred dollars because we went with the wireless solution. Cost is about $30/month.

Re: Alarm Systems
Protection one. The system was already here. So I dont know how much it would cost to hook up. There was recently a thread about this

Re: Alarm Systems
Thanks - I'll do a search. Slomins quoted us $800 to hook up. IMO that is a lot - but I don't know much about it.
I'll check it out.

Re: Alarm Systems
Free hook up but the extra window is $68. Monthy is $34. It comes with 2 personal alarm things, key pad, 3 windows, 2 doors, one motion detector.ADT is who we signed up with for a 3 year conttract. IMHO 800 is way to much to spend. Plus Slomins puts a lien on your house and makes you contract for 5 years

Re: Alarm Systems
We use Lowitt Alarms. Pretty much the whole block uses them. Not sure how much the install is, it was done about 15 years ago when one of the neighbors got broken into. We pay $22 per month. They are very responsive when we've needing service (some of the older glass sensors have been breaking)
We have glass breakage sensors on all the windows (2 on each since they are double hung windows), 4 entrances, 1 keypad, 1 motion sensor, 1 panic button and 3 fire alarms. I want to upgrade the fire alarms to be carbon monoxide detectors also.
Their website is: Lowitt Alarms

Re: Alarm Systems
I actually just ordered an alarm through them. It is costing $1750 because I upgraded to alarm my windows. I called in another company and they wanted $4500.

So you are cool with the lien on your house?

Re: Alarm Systems
My parents have Slomin's and it was fine, they respond really quickly. THe installation was free, and I think it's about $30 monthly.
We are getting ADT for our house.
