Aldi store? - anyone familiar with it?
Just saw in Newsday today that Aldi is opening a grocery store in Lake Grove and that one already exists in Lindenhurst.
Anyone shop in the Lindenhurst location and can share their thoughts? How are the prices and selection of stuff? Worth stopping in the new store to check it out or should we skip it?

I live in Lindenhurst and am pretty sure there's no Aldi here. There's one in BayShore, right by Best Buy off of Sunrise.
Aldi is pretty cool. It's all their own brand of stuff, like Trader Joe's (actually, they are owned by the same company). You can't use charge there, and I think they charge for bags and the use of shopping carts.
Personally, I save much more money shopping sales and using coupons than I would save at Aldi. But I know that a lot of people swear by it. I hear their frozen foods and packaged items like granola bars and stuff are really good, and dirt cheap.

I shop at Aldi here in the UK regularly, its like brands for lower prices and the quality is excellent. And its cheap, they have great produce and its super cheap...a head of Broccoli costs .39p, thats like 75 cents. Their chocolate is excellent as is their continental meats. I love Aldi...and I love their ads.
I don't like Tea... Love this ad!
