All Inclusive Resorts - UPDATE #2

Well he did it! I was leaning more towards the Excellence Playa Mujeres in Cancun & my dh surprised me today & told me that he booked us a Rooftop Terrace room for our 1 year anniversary!!!

I'm so excited - I can't wait! He's been upset this entire year because he had severe pneumonia on our honeymoon (with 104 degree temp!) so we spent the whole scary week in our room with the local doctor & nurse. This is going to be our "Honeymoon Part II" so that we can try to forget about our 1st one!! Chat Icon

Thank you all for your help! I'll give a full review after we get back in November. Chat Icon

Re: All Inclusive Resorts

We stayed at the Divi All Inclusive Resort in Aruba in February. It was amazing! The beach was GORGEOUS and everything was included-I even tried windsurfing! Food was average, but the drinks were delicious, so that made up for the eh food. You can take a cab there from the airport for $20, and the public buses are right outside of the resort, and they will take you right into the town for $2.00 each way. Good luck!

Re: All Inclusive Resorts

my favorite is Excellence Riviera Cancun...unbelievable. We stayed there for our HM.

We just got back from the Royal in Playa del Carmen (Cancun). It's part of the Real resort chain. The location wasn't as private as Excellence - it was right there in the city of Playa del Carmen so if you like a lot of outside nightlife that's even walkable, this would be good for you.

Definitely check out the reviews on trip advisor- that's what helped me! Good luck!Chat Icon

Thanks everyone! Chat Icon

Please keep the ideas coming!

Tara - we were actually checking out that resort last night & it's my fave so far. Out of curiousity, though, how far would you say it is from the center of town? I went with my friend to a hotel there just about 3 years ago & we were told that they were walking distance to town - when we got there we found out that they were off of the main strip & about 2 or 3 miles away...we had to take taxis every time we wanted to go out at night, which wasn't terrible, but we were hoping for something a little bit closer Chat Icon

I was at the paradesius Punta Cana in the DR this July. It was AMAZING! I can not rave about it enough. We did the Royal Service package which included a butler. I know they have suites and a new area called the reserve.

Re: All Inclusive Resorts

We like Couples in Jamaica. We've been to both Swept Away and Negril. We've also been to 5 star resorts in Jamaica-- and Couples is a great deal for the money-- only draw back is that it's a long ride from the airport.

I just came back from there 2 weeks ago. The place is amazing! Absolutely beautiful!. I didn't do the Royal Service, but They do have a few different perks! Check out Paradisus Punta Cana on travelocity or expedia. They have pics and reviews.

Re: All Inclusive Resorts - UPDATE

I've been to Excellence Punta Cana. The Excellence resorts are similar I think. We absolutely loved it there. The staff and resort was just fabulous. We can't wait to go back and try other Excellence resorts.

Re: All Inclusive Resorts - UPDATE

I have not been to those 2, but I went to Mexico for my HM. We stayed at the Royal Hideaway and I can hands down say it was AMAZING!!! Food, service, everything. It's not your typical all inclusive, it's top scale and there are only like 100 guests in the place at one time. I am pretty sure they have rooms with a private outdoor jacuzzi, but they def don't have ones with a private pool.
