all inclusive resorts?
DH and i are starting to plan our summer vacation and we're thinking about an all-inclusive kind of place.
if you've been to one, sandles, club med, etc could you tell me which one you went to and about your experience?
TIA!

Re: all inclusive resorts?
DH and I went to Riviera Maya, Mexico and stayed at the Royal Hideaway and I have to say, best vacation I have ever had hands down!!!
Place is 5 star!!! Food is amazing as well
If you want a relaxing place, this is it. Cancun is only 1/2 hour cab ride for the nights you want to party.

Re: all inclusive resorts?
DH and I stayed at Club Med Turks and Caicos in June 2006. It was the best vacation of our lives. Everything was included, we only spent $20 the whole week. The food was good, good beer and liquor were included, as well as snorkeling as often as you wanted, the flying trapeze, water aerobics, kayaking, windsurfing, etc. The beaches in Turks are the nicest I've ever seen!! FM if you'd like my travel agent's info.. she got a FANTASTIC deal!

Re: all inclusive resorts?
the only al inclusive ive ever been to was Le Blanc in cancun, its owned by the palace resorts and is their "top tier" resort. it was amazing. every detail was perfect, the food was top notch, and the place was immaculate.
i would highly recommend it~

We stayed at the sister resort (also in Riviera Maya- but further south)- the El Dorado Seaside Suites. It's much smaller and very quiet. I think we would have preferred the bigger resort.
The seaside suites was beautiful though- and the staff was great! Food was a little too fancy for our tastes.

we went to Sandals in the Bahamas with a large group and it was fine, nothing amazing. Last year we went to Dream in Cancun, and it was far superior

DH & I stayed here about 6 yrs ago. And while we had a great time I would have to agree with staying away from there. It's not some place I would recommend. But for what we paid ($1200 for both of us including airfare for 7 days) we couldn't really complain. This was at a time when we still drank. A LOT so it was totally worth it just for that
ETA: We stayed at Excellence Punta Cana in Dominican Republic in Jan of this year and it was great. Pics are in my album if you want to check them out.

Re: all inclusive resorts?
We just came back from Dreams in Puerto Vallarta. Absolutely terrific - and VERY good food.
I've heard Dreams in Domenica Republic was so-so. Our friends were griping about being served drinks in plastic (dixie) cups by the pool because they didn't allow glass. We didn't have that in Mexico. They also said that Dreams just took over the resort, so it may have been the previous owners' issues.

Re: all inclusive resorts?
Went to Club Med Turks & Caicos with some friends back in 2000. We had fun but I would NEVER go back there w/DH. More of a singles scene.
I'm going to the Half Moon Resort in Jamaica for a wedding in May. I can give a review when I get home. Not sure if it's all-inclusive or not but the place looks gorgeous!

Re: all inclusive resorts?
There are lots of all inclusives in Jamaica and they are reasonably priced. DH and I stayed at Sunset Beach in Montego Bay and before we met I went to Wyndham in Montego Bay. Both were very nice and we got good deals.

Another vote for Dreams Puerto Vallarta! We had an amazing time!
