All Inclusive resorts for 1 year anniversary

Danielle and I were supposed to go to the GRand Xcaret Resort in the Riviera Maya Mexico in 3 weeks for our 1 year anniversary, and the travel agent I have been dealing with told me that the resort should be open on monday.

Well I called my cousin who is a travel agent and he said he spoke with the resort and they said they are closed to fix the damage from Emily and they werent sure when they would be re opening.

So now Danielle and I are looking into other palces to stay, but we dont want to spend any more than we are already spending, we are actually hoping to spend a little less.

If anyone has any ideas, please post them here.
Thanks,
Scott

Scott - as you know, we are going to El Dorado still. We were probably going to go to Club Med Columbus Isle which is in the Bahamas otherwise - it's one of the more upscale ones. FM how much you were paying for your all-inclusive and I can give you some ideas - I've researched about ALL of them now.

Re: All Inclusive resorts for 1 year anniversary

we went to Grand Lido Braco (Superclub) in Jamaica. Although Jamaica may not have fared better recently lol, we had a great trip there. If you just want a beach vacation, and don't feel the need to leave the resort, this is a great place. Its a little pricey, but if we could get a deal and go back, we would in a second.

Jamaica did get hit. You'd probably have to check with the individual resorts for damage reports though.

Re: All Inclusive resorts for 1 year anniversary

Too bad I can pay for the trip through them, I would have to go through liberty travel, since that is where we booked our mexico trip
Thanks,

Re: All Inclusive resorts for 1 year anniversary

No...We want to get away from Mexico...From what I hear Mexico is mostly a mess from the storm and I dont want to get there and then see that there is nothing to do or if the resort opens, see that the place is a mess or not fully functional.

So anywhere that is all inclusive for adults only would be what we are lloking for...
Thanks,
Scott

Re: All Inclusive resorts for 1 year anniversary

would you go back to st lucia again or what about one of the other islands they are at? Have you been to Jamaica? Heard the Turks and Caicos one is really nice and since your returning guests arent you suppose to get first and last night free? we got a voucher but never used it.

Re: All Inclusive resorts for 1 year anniversary

We just came back from the travel agent and it looks as if we have to stay some where in mexico because our plane tickets are not transferrable. So we looked at many different resorts with the agent and found that they were all booked. So supposedly she checked the resort and her message says that as of now the resort has no electric, but they will be open for business on July 31st. I am supposed to call her on monday to see what the update is...
