Re: All this hospital bag talk...

I am really confused. Why does anyone care about the bag they bring their stuff to the hospital in? I am obsessed with fashion and style, but for me the bag just does not matter - I'm going to bring a suitcase. I just don't care. What am I missing?

I don't think you are missing anything. To each their own. But being that there has been alot of talk on here about mommies getting new bags, I was curious to see what they looked likeChat Icon

Re: All this hospital bag talk...

I think some people want a nice bag as a "present" to themself.

I personally don't understand the whole thing with the going home outfit for the baby. So, it would be similar to someone who does not understand the hospital bag thing.

Ditto...I feel like its gonna sit on a hospital floor and after having my baby, the last thing I will care about is my bag. Whos gonna see it?

I think the going home outfit for many ( at least for me) is for pictures.....And its the first outfit my child will ever wear.....Not sure that compares to a bag to hold clothes in....

That's why I said people don't always understand other people's reasoning whether it's an hospital bag, a mommy going home outfit, a baby going home outfit, etc.... The first pics of the baby for me with be right at birth.

Re: All this hospital bag talk...

I only got a new bag because I needed a lighter and roomier overnight bag anyway...and I wasn't going to get a coming home outfit - my friend INSISTED on getting them for me -- and guess what? They aren't what I would have chosen anyway Chat Icon

Re: All this hospital bag talk...

I'm going very high end and fancy...

I've put a lot of time and effort into finding just the right bag that says JUST the right thing about me and my new family.

And I've decided to use:

DH's Grumpy Dwarf Duffle Bag.

Re: All this hospital bag talk...

I got one with little zippered pockets on the outside so that DH can find my info & pre-reg forms easily. Other than that I hate my bag & think it is uglyChat Icon

Re: All this hospital bag talk...

As I said in another post, my hospital bag was an overnight bag my mom lent me and a clear plastic bag that a comforter comes in. Since both wound up sitting on the floor for 5 days in hospital, I was glad I didnt get a nice bag.
But, as everyone says, to each his own...Chat Icon

yeah pretty much.Chat Icon

I just want a simple overnight bag...which I don't own [the ones I have are more for quick day trips into the city], so I will purchase one. I know if I take a suitcase, I'll fill it to the max! I really only need a few things in there after all!

I've overthought the going home oufit...but only because I have nothing else to do really [in preparation]. My family is HUGE on pictures otherwise, I bet I wouldn't care.Chat Icon

I can't even remember what bag I had with me last time.

I will just pull a bag out of the closet. I better get cracking!
