Already transitioned to a toddler bed...
So, for almost a month now DH and I were having a hard time getting DD to stay in her bed. She would scream bloody murder until we put her in bed with us. Once in bed with us, she would sleep very well, however WE weren't getting any sleep.
So we went to TRU and got her a dora toddler bed. Dora is her favorite thing right now, and we figured, it doesn't hurt to try.
So we have been using it for about 1 week, and let me say, it has worked wonders. She sleeps wonderfully in it. We attached her mobile to it, and its at the foot of our bed.
I can't believe my 7 month old doesn't like the crib. I get nervous, but it does have sides and it is only 10 inches from the ground...but hey..sometimes you have to do what you have to do especially to get some sleep right???

Wow , I am worried about having Kaitee move to a toddler bed at 17 months. She is 8 1/2 months old and I can't imagine her in a toddler bed yet.

Your right,,gotta do watcha gotta do!!!
Everything will be fine....
ETA: if a parent allows their DC to sleep in the bed with them, I feel a toddler bed at 7 months is much safer. Wouldnt you rather DC fall 10 inches than possibly being suffocated?

I would imagine it will be easier for when #2 comes along

That's great! That will make your life a little easier when #2 arrives. Sydney sleeps at home in a crib but at daycare she naps on a cot - she refuses to go in the crib.

Re: Already transitioned to a toddler bed...
I just felt like I am "rushing" her to age. My fear of suffocating her is what was keeping DH and I up all night and sleeping on the edges of the bed. If this continues to work, then as mentioned at least I don't have to buy another crib for #2.
We shall see.
