Alternative to Latex balloons

OK - So i need some help - I have a guest that should be coming to DD 1st b-day party and he is allergic to LATEX - so i really cant use any latex balloons at all - Other then mylar balloons - how else can i decorate????

We hung paper lantersn at DD's 1st birthday ( best part is that they are re-usable !!)

I had balloon centerpieces,, but there are soooo many other ways to decorate! You can get confetti for the tables, the swirly decorations posted before, banners, crepe paper--go to party city and check it out--

At the end of DD's party when we were cleaning up, we had all of these balloons and were like "well, what do we do with them?" I videotaped my drunk friend popping them all with his cigarette (disclaimer: no kiddies were around--the party was over and we had the room for a few hours after the party officially ended so a few of my friends helped me clean up and drink the leftover wine/beer--DH had brought DD home hours before...) it made the party look pretty, but my point is, that was 100 bucks popped away into nothing!

I would suggest going to Party City--I like Oriental Trading, but in Party City, returns are easy and you can actually SEE what you are getting.

One big hit was the "name" confetti I had on all of the tables. If your DC has a fairly common name, you can get that or just plain "1" or "Happy Birthday" confetti.

I WILL BE DOING MYLARS FOR THE TABLES BUT WANTED TO DO SOMETHING ELSE - I LOVE THE LATERNS AND THE SWIRLY THINGS - I THINK I WILL TRY AND INCORPORATE BOTH -

I REALLY WANTED TO FILL THE CEILING ITH LATEX AND HANG THE STRINGS DOWN BUT CANT BEING ONE OF THE KIDS HAS A LATEX ALLERGY VERY BAD AND CANT/WONT DO IT TO HIM OR WORSE NOT INVITE HIM - ANYWAY -
