Re: Am I a MEAN MOMMY? Easter Basket related
No, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. DS will be 2 at Easter and I was putting in a few M&Ms and that's it. I was going to put in fruit snacks and other munchies, but not candy. At this age, I think they're more interested in the toys than the candy. In a few years, it'll be all about the candy.

Not at all. I am doing the same thing, a few books, some small toys and 1 piece of candy each. My twins are also 2 and a half and I don't think they need the extra sugar.

I don't think you're being mean at all. I'm doing the same. My personal feelings on this is...he doesn't even know he's missing it. *I* can't see anything good coming from a 2 1/2 y.o. eating peeps. When he's old enough to ask for it, I'll let him have some. When I have tried to introduce sweets to DS, most of the time he's not even interested in it. He'd rather have fruit. This is what's worked for me and my family

not at all-I think what you have planned sounds better-I know my DD would prefer the activities to the candy at this age.

Re: Am I a MEAN MOMMY? Easter Basket related
DS is almost 21 months and never had candy.
I like a "simple" Easter. No need for DC to get sick from all this sugar. I think eggs (some eatable and some just decorated) are plenty.
I plan on doing a basket and looking for eggs in our yard.

Re: Am I a MEAN MOMMY? Easter Basket related
DS will 15 months when Easter rolls around. He is getting minimal (I mean minimal - maybe a few m & m's and a small bunny) candy. His basket is going to mostly be books and small toys.

Re: Am I a MEAN MOMMY? Easter Basket related
The only candy my DD will be getting in her basket is M&M's. Other than that she is getting chalk, a notepad & pencil, coloring books, a puzzle & bubbles. A 2.5 year old doesn't need candy.

Re: Am I a MEAN MOMMY? Easter Basket related
No that's not mean.
DD was 15 mos last year and I did all-natural fruit snacks and little packs of graham crackers (Bug Bites, Scooby Snacks) with books and toys. She never had candy until late last year.
DD will be 28mos this year and I'll do more of the same and add a lollipop and some M&Ms too. I'm not going crazy with candy because she doesn't need it and mom and dad don't need it around the house either.
