Am I being ungrateful?
I found out that my shower is Sunday (tommorrow) night and Im a little upset, Dh said there was no other time available to have it. I cant imagine why though , I know I should be happy but its late and Sunday night many people might not show up or resent having to come at such an inconvienent time. My sil is the one throwing it and shes preggo too, Im having her shower on a SAt afternoon when its supposed to be. I dont want to sound mean or ungrateful but I cant help it.

i am just browiung this board not pg yet but i think sunday NIGHT is a little nuts but im sure your family and friends will stay b/c they wnat to be ther foryou.

I don't think you are ungrateful, I don;t blame you.
But since there is probably nothing you can do about it at this point, there is no point being upset. (easier said then done, I know)

It will still be fun and you will still get great gifts! Your SIL just isn't as great of a party planner as you are!
My MIL wanted to have mine on a sunday night in Philly but luckily my mom was able to bully her into a Saturday at 2pm. I still don't understand what my MIL was thinking especially since my side of the family and friends all had to travel out of state for it. My MIL also wanted to have it in my 9th month when I couldn't travel so she could open the gifts and then mail them to me... (but alas that's a different story!)
I know these last few weeks are rough on you especially since the loss of your Mom but don't worry things will work out and your not ungrateful. Ok, I'm putting words in your mouth but If I was you the feelings would just be steming from missing my mom and how she might have done things you've had alot on your plate with the fire.. etc..
You will have a ball I promise you, people love baby gifts and baby gifts are so MUCH more fun then towels and toasters!

AWW thanks Laurie- you are very right, I know that my mom would have done things differently but thats why no one can replace mom, Im sure it will be a great time I was just kind of upset becuase I want people to want to be there and not dread going becuase of the time ya know. It'll work out I always stress for no reason.

I know if I was invited to a baby shower on a Sunday night and I was close to the mom to be I would go just because I would want to be there for the mom to be...hopefully your friends and family feel the same...

My shower was on a Sunday afternoon and everyone was fine with it. The people who love you will be there no matter what day and time it is.
