Am I crazy for even considering this?
So this idea just occurred to me about 1 hour ago so bear with me.
We are leaving for FL next week for my nephews christening ( I will be the godmother) and also because my entire family lives in FL and have yet to meet DS (who will be 9 weeks at the time).
We will be driving down. So ihave a DD who is almost 3 and DS (again 10 weeks)
OK here is the crazy part - I am thinking of stopping at Disney for a day. Is it ridiculous to take my 10 week old? I figure it is low season he will be in a closed up stroller - what do you think?
I am not neurotic at all but I am wondering if I am being too lax?
Thanks for reading

Re: Am I crazy for even considering this?
I don't see why not... it's for a day and your DS will be sleeping most of the time anyway being outside in the fresh air. DD will love it and DH will be there to help so one adult per child. My sister and BIL went to Disney with 5 kids! Her DD was 3 months at the time and the other 4 were from the ages of 4 to 8 years old. They had a great time and my 3 month old niece was fine.

Re: Am I crazy for even considering this?
I'd do it as long as the 10 week old was in a stroller & not handled by the crowd.
Also it's Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, so it may be more crowded than you'd think.
Make sure you have a costume for hte 3 year old. You'll have a grumpy 3 year old or you'll be buying one in Disney.

I think I'll go for it then!! Good point about the costume - I hadn't thought of that.

Re: Am I crazy for even considering this?
I'd be hesitant..only b/c of the time of yr it is with Kids starting school...all having colds from each other now, its SUCH a public place, but I would also find it hard NOT TO GO since your DD's 3 and its a great time to go to Disney....so If I did go, I would just keep the baby in the stroller at all times and I'm sure in the end it will be fine.

Re: Am I crazy for even considering this?
I would do it too!! Make sure you, your DH and your 3yo wash your hands A LOT though. You will be touching all the rides and stuff then the stroller then the baby...

Re: Am I crazy for even considering this?
I would def not do that. But I am overly cautious. Many children get sick in Disney world. You have people from all over the world there, with God knows what, kwim?
ETA - Has your baby even had one DTP yet? Pertussis is very severe if caught at such a young age. Even if your DC had the DTP two weeks ago, it may not have even worked yet, plus only one shot isn't that much protection.
And unless you had a pertussis shot yourself recently, our immunities wane on that one so odds are baby is not protected through your antibodies.
Sorry to put a damper on it.

I agree with Felice ~ make sure you all wash your hands after rides etc....

Re: Am I crazy for even considering this?
I took my DS to Disneyland at 3 weeks old. He slept pretty much the whole day and my Aunt who doesn't ride anything held him most of the day. It was fine.

Re: Am I crazy for even considering this?
Just to comment on the getting sick part, my DD got RVS from her grandmother. My doc said most kids get whooping cough and other serious illnesses from older relatives, NOT the population at large. Just my two cents on that...
It's not like you will be inside or in an enclosed place. Go have a good time

Re: Am I crazy for even considering this?
I am happy to hear I am not completely crazy!! Well, maybe I am, but at least it is not because of this
I am excited now!!! I always carry like 3 bottles of purell plus I also carry clorox wipes. I am OCD like that. SO I will be sure to have a ton with me!
My DD is going to be absolutely thrilled!!! She is princess OBSESSED!

Re: Am I crazy for even considering this?
We just took Alex to Dutch Wonderland last weekend, and I brought Yael, who is 9+ weeks.
Yes, she DID develop a cold, but that was given to her by big sis'
ETA - everytime we came off a ride, I used purell and made Alex and DH use it as well.
