Am I just being silly? (sorry a little long)
My aunt invited us for dinner tomorrow afternoon but DD isn't even one month old I never thought I would be like this but I am really nervous about her going somewhere. There won't be any children there so technically, it should be alright.
I feel overwhelmed because I have an open c-section incision that requires care, I am still nursing her on demand (which I'm not used to doing in front of people) and I'm just nervous
Any advice would be appreciated. Should I just take her and stop being a nervous nelly and deal with getting out of the house with a baby and get used to it? Or is she really too young? Sorry if I'm babbling, just feeling overwhelmed

Re: Am I just being silly? (sorry a little long)
My daughter is 4 weeks old today, last week i took her to my sil and my sis house. My peds said you can take them to family houses but not to public places like restaurants, stores etc. Its been a week and my daughter seems find.. Today im taking to sis's house to babysit for us so we can go see my sil in hospital she just had her second baby. I would just make sure if you take her to familys house that no one is ill.. thats what i did.

I am sure you can use your aunt's bedroom or a guest room for this
I would totally go, I think it would be a really nice idea....and a nice break. We were never told not to bring DS anywhere. When he was 3 weeks old, we took him to Jose Tejas, a crowded mexican restaurant in New Jersey and he was FINE.

I would go. It will be a nice break and sooner or later, you will have to learn how to manage with DC outside the house. It'll be good practice.
If you are not comfortable BFing in front of aunt, then ask to use her room. I'm sure she'll understand.

Other ailments aside I think it's perfectly fine to take DD somewhere at one month old but if you are not physically feeling up to it then that's a differnt story. I think you need to decide if it will be fun or stressful for you right now.

Re: Am I just being silly? (sorry a little long)
i took DD with me to my 2 week follow up doc visit in Manhattan and then we sat at an outside cafe for 1 hour. She slept the whole time. I took her to my parents house too (i nursed in the other room) and i'm thinking of taking her with us today to BRU because i need some stuff. We also took her for a short walk in the stroller the other day. My pediatrician said 1 hour outdoors is ok but no malls etc. until she's 1 month old. Carry a little purell with you! Getting out might do you good - i was going crazy being indoors for 3 weeks straight. Just take it easy. I was sore after my walk and ride in the car.

I think it's fine, especially if she doesn't live too far away.
Like the other ladies have said, i'm sure you can go into a private room and nurse your baby.

Re: Am I just being silly? (sorry a little long)
Thanks everyone
Honestly, I don't really want to go. She only lives 5 minutes away and she knows she is always welcome here.
We take her in the stroller outside, the pediatrician said that would be good, but I feel weird taking her to someone else's house being so little. I think I will take a raincheck. Thanks so much for all your responses!!!
