am i over-reacting or is this something to worry about: 1st marathon related

the AC marathon is the second week of october.

i'm freaking out that i won't be ready. DS really fell apart during our last long run (21-ish miles... i don't know the exact distance because my gps died at about 18+ miles).

i'm in a running funk and haven't been doing my best in the last two weeks.

with DS on vacation, i know he's not running. he'll be back after the long weekend, which puts us at about 5 weeks from the marathon.

can i do this?
or should i bail on the AC marathon and plan for the Philly marathon, which is in november?

i'm so uncertain, right now

thanks.

i guess i'm hoping to "feel" it more.
as they say, "did not finish" is better than "did not start"

You've done at least 18...that's what a lot of people on the metric system use as their longest run...30k. There is a school of thought about running for time and maxing out at 2.5-3 hours. Sometimes when I run for time and don't worry about the distance it helps me mentally.

You have 5 weeks?

9/1- 2 hours
9/8 - 2 1/2 hours
9/15- 3 hours
9/22 -2 hours
9/30 - 1-1.5 hours
Race

That should be enough.
