Am I the only mom guilty of putting my son to sleep w/a Bottle?

I mean, when I put my 22 month old in his crib to sleep at night,he cries for his "ba-ba"
and the mush that I am, I give it to him.

Ive tried giving it to him just before bed, but he'll still cry for it at some point thruout the night, and being that I have a younger son
(11 months old& a bad sleeper) I'll just give it to him not to hear him cry(I know....SO bad Chat Icon)

I know how bad this is because it increases the risk of ear infections and cavities..I make him brush his teeth if he cooperates...

does anyone else do this? and any suggestions? TIA!

If it were me, I would try to get him off a bottle soon. I weaned my son the minute I found out I was pregnant.

First I would tell him "No more bottle (or ba-ba)". I would hold him & pat him to sleep. Expect him to act like a crack addict going cold turkey - irritable, angry, etc. At 2 years old, it should last about 4-5 days. The way NOT to back track is that once day 1 is over, it's 1 less day you have to deal with it.

It is tough - but it's easier to wean a 22 month old than a 2.5 year old. Also there will be no mixing up the bottles with your younger son.

DD had a bedtime bottle til she was 2, then once we transitioned her into her big girl bed, the bobble was next. We took her to TRU and told her to pick out a stuffed animal that would go to sleep with her at night instead of the bobble.

You aren't guilty at all, the kids won't start college with a bottle, just do what feels right.

I'm not at that stage yet but what if the cold turkey idea doest work (my mom did it to me but actually threw my bottle over board on a boat while I watched, mean I know but I was older also) you could add water to his milk a little more each night until it is only water and he will probably not want that evenutally

I think taking it away when he gets his big boy bed is a great idea...
I tried the cutting with water thing thinking I was so clever,
but he realized after a couple of sucks, then looked at his bottle & then me,threw the bottle out of his crib&cried! lol
Thank you for your ideas!
