Am I the only one??
I can't find clothes! It's so bad I held back tears yesterday.
Long story short, I worked 12 hrs, on 4 hrs of sleep and I had to meet my bfs employees for dinner last night but I was in scrubs. Bf offered to meet me before dinner to buy me clothes. I'm in manhattan, went to Zara and anthropologie and came out with NOTHING. Nothing fits right. I'm so sick of wearing the same jeans, leggings, black shirts...everrrrry day it's the sameee clothes, over and over.
Pls tell me I'm not the only one? Everything it's so boxy. Nothing is fitted and the material is super thin that shows every imperfection
I'm just really sad

Re: Am I the only one??
You're not alone! First off...shopping when you're on no sleep and tired from work is the worst. So you weren't in the best state of mind to pick things out and try them on. I also feel like sometimes I do best when I try on something I would not really consider for myself. I just bought a maxi dress...you know me, I'm short. Never thought I could pull it off. Finally tried some on and found one that worked. I don't know about you, but I also have to be in the mood to shop. I'm not a "run-out-on-my-lunch-break" shopper. I have to tackle it when I'm good and ready to. And when I don't feel bloated. This occurs...twice a year. But anyway...I just bought a bunch of stuff from Modcloth and they have so many detailed reviews about how things fit...it's hard not to find something that will work for you on there!

Re: Am I the only one??
I hate shopping too. My DH thinks I am crazy. I don't have a straight figure where shift or boxy styles looks good. I look pregnant in those styles and feel I look huge.
I wish I had more advise but I don't. Just try on clothes and see where it goes from there.

Nope. Not alone. I find between the styles and fit I can't find anything I like.

Me! I need new clothes and I cannot find shirts mostly. I want short sleeved or 3/4 sleeved not tank tops which I can't wear to work. Everything is gross.

You are definitely not alone! I brought home bags from the mall the other day and 99.9 percent of it is going back. The only thing I am keeping are the shoes and headbands I bought. It is becoming very frustrating!

Re: Am I the only one??
I HATE shopping. I usually like to go to one store, buy multiple colors in something that fits and be done with it. But I can't find that "one" store that I like anymore.
I dread going to the mall. I hate crowds. I hardly get any alone-time to shop (by myself with no kids in tow), and any time I do get isn't long enough to hit the dressing room 7,000 times in trip.
I feel like such an ass when I have to get dressed to see friends on the weekends. We went to White Post farms last week and I tried on 5 different combinations of clothes before I left the house with a purple shirt, brown shorts and gray sneakers (umm, I gave up...I did NOT match!).

I hate it too! I also think tops are too boxy these days. All the pants are skinny. Let me tell you, when you are pear shaped, this is the worst look ever (skinny pants and a boxy top make me look 10xs bigger than I really am)!!!!!!

Re: Am I the only one??
I think if you focus on clothes you have that you do like, look for those brands or cuts again.

This.
I also tend to not follow trends but stick to basics and dress it up with some kind of jewelry or other accessory.
If you have the time, I also recommend going to Marshall's. I always find stuff when I go in there but you need to be willing to go through the racks and try on different sizes even.

Same thing happens to me, though I am a little overweight so my stomach is like a 16 and my legs are like an 8 so no pants look right. let's not talk about the boobs. Button downs are not an option

Am I the only one??
I have finally faced the reality I can't do most trends. This is because:
I'm not a size zero I'm 40 I'm poor and can't drop $$$$ on every latest trend I don't have a "trendy" lifestyle anymore
So, I stick with classic pieces that are timeless, and get something I can fit into and afford that fit the trend... Accessories. A nice accessory makes me feel as good as a brand new outfit.
I get compliments on my outfits all the time despite them not being trendy, so I must be doing something right...

Am I the only one??
I hate that I only want to wear one kind of thing because it's the only thing I look good in. I hate that I toes not look refined or simple- everything looks cheap to me. The stuff I want to wear is too expensive and designed for a size 0, while any top or jeans with a little stretch look so cheap to me. DH thinks I'm crazy, but I just want to feel confident.

Re: Am I the only one??
Thanks everyone! I actually bought two dresses on Friday. Both can't be worn with a bra and show side boob. Not sure wtf I was thinking. But now I need the plastic chicken cutlet bra that just sticks on your boob without straps. Where can I find that??

Those dresses sound hot, maybe Victoria Secret?

Re: Am I the only one??
I totally understand what you're saying and I usually love shopping too. Yesterday I went looking for a fitted top and do you know I couldn't find one. Not one thing! It's disappointing because these days everything is boxy and it all looks the same.
