Am I the only one with this gross pregnancy side effect?
Ok..i'll lay it out on the table..I have hemorrhoids :( I discovered this lovely fact yesterday. My question is, anyone else going through this???
I was nervous to post this but they do say its common especially at the end of pregnancy (i'm 33 weeks). I called my doc to see what meds i can take to help...but need some relief right away. I'm wondering if prep H would be ok for me in the meantime??
FM me if you don't feel comfortable posting! I appreciate any help anyone has!

This is how it started for me unfortunately :( (not saying you'll get them!!). I had red blood a few weeks back...then yesterday no blood, however I know its there. Ugh. I started colace today to help-this baby has just been sitting so low the whole pregnancy i think he is really pushing down on my whole bowel system. Ah the joy of pregnancy!!

in the height of my m/s while I was living on bagels when I would wipe there would be blood and it would hurt. I am sure they are on their way. I try to fiber up as much as possible now.

Re: Am I the only one with this gross pregnancy side effect?
I got them the day before I delivered and when I delivered they were horrible. The pain was worse than labor for me. I couldn't sit comfortably for a few weeks. They gave me those pads and a spray. What worked best was a sitz bath or sit in a warm bath tub.
Lots of hugs!

Re: Am I the only one with this gross pregnancy side effect?
I haven't had this yet {knock on wood}. There was a point when I was really constipated. So, I would eat prunes after every meal. It seemed to help because now that I do that, I don't have any problems. Now I just eat the prunes every 2 days or so. I swear, that's what helped me. Maybe eating some foods that help soften your stool will alleviate some of the pain and keep them from coming back.

I have them also. I've been taking Colace twice a day, but it didn't prevent them. I've found Tucks wipes and suppositories work best - better then feeling like you have broken glass coming out of your behind!

Re: Am I the only one with this gross pregnancy side effect?
I was lucky to not get them during pg, but the ones I got from delivery were brutal! I couldn't sit, walk and now I have fissures too.
Take some colace, up that water drinking, eat lots of fiber in the form of fruits and veggies-that's key to softening it up so you don't push or make them worse, or even worse create a fissure.
I am pretty sure you can use prep H and suppositories. I BF and have used both. I would check w/ dr to make sure.
hugs

4 colace a day saved me from this, as well as lots of water and veggies & fruit. It's my miracle drug!! Good luck!
