I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss and for the situation You are not wrong for having wanted to take the things. Your grandmother was a smart woman to know that this would be an issue. At this point, all you can do is wait until your mother and her siblings say you can have them, or you can try to contact an aunt or uncle to see if they can get them to you. While I do NOT condone what your mother did, she is also grieving and grief can really cause people to do some awful things. I'm so sorry.

no you are not wrong... i hate when there is a death in the family and yet it still does not stop people from behaving so badly. IT'S WRONG JUST WRONG. can you tell i have been through it. if you did not leave ny yet i would go get what your grandma WANTED you to have. as for your mom and her siblings... they have the rest of the house. and who is not to say that they will take what was promissed to you in a few months. I say take it and good luck sweety
