Amalgram fillings
Just curious, for those who have DC's on the spectrum, do you have any amalgram fillings? (silver ones) If so, do you think that could have been one of the things that might have contributed to it? Was googling and saw an article on it.

I have them. Could be a correlation, but I doubt it. Genetics is what I believe.

Re: Amalgram fillings
interesting theory. I'm actually looking into removing my fillings and redoing my root canals.
I think the biggest cause of the asd epidemic is our highly processed food system/GMOs. The foods we eat have the ability to change our dna. So the theory goes that years of consuming these types of foods have changed our dna to the extent that our offspring are born with food allergies, developmental delays, asd, etc.
As they say, genetics loads the gun, but environmental factors pull the trigger.

I agree with this 100%. That said, I had extensive dental work done when I was pg with DS who's on the spectrum. Who knows.....

Re: Amalgram fillings
I do have amalgam filling but I had a DD first who is fine and then DS who is currently considered on the specturm (PDD-NOS) and DC #3 another boy who is fine so NO I don't think my fillings had anything to do with this.
