Amazing - story from the mother of Emilie Parker (one of the little girls taken in Sandy Hook)
How can you NOT believe it was the spirit of her sweet little girl?
Definitely gave me goosebumps and got me choked up.
So Beautiful

Re: Amazing - story from the mother of Emilie Parker (one of the little girls taken in Sandy Hook)
And now I'm crying.
I give that mother sooooo much credit. I don't know how you pick up the pieces and go on. Every time I see that little girls face, or any of those Sandy Hook victims, I just tear up. I guess it hits me hard too because my DD is in Kindergarten and I just can't imagine...........they are such babies. The whole Sandy Hook incident just breaks my heart into a thousand pieces. I feel so terrible for those parents, such loss and pain.

Me too, I still think of it, the children and the parents, OFTEN.
I hope to never know, but I would think it is horrific enough to lose a child, but to lose them in the way they did, crushes me.
These parents are better and stronger people than I will ever be.

I agree. Losing a child in ANY way is horrific but to think about the way those children died.........the fear, being alone without their parents, those poor babies being shot multiple times. I just can't.
I too think about them often. It's just so sad. I never want to let my babies out of my sight.

I think about this all the time.
I keep wondering if these parents were forced to persevere because they still had other children to be there for.
I know its horrible to think this way... But I only have one kid. If anything ever happened to him, i would truly have nothing to live for.

My heart will forever break for these families, ugh. That was definitely Emilie stopping by. That psycho ba$tard didn't take her beautiful spirit.

I honestly can't imagine, that even with more than one, I would just be able to pull myself up by my bootstraps and go on. I hope for them, I could, but I don't know if I am that strong. I don't think that I am.
I am not a parent to any of those children, but what their last moments must have been like, STILL haunts me. I couldn't imagine if it were MY child.
And again, for her to see moments of hope and happiness like she told in this story. To be able to even have that moment, is ASTOUNDING and inspirational to me. She is one of the strongest women (as are all of the Sandy Hook parents) that I have ever heard of.

It has to be so hard on those children left behind. A part of you must die the day you lose your child and as much as you pull it together for the other children, it has got to be the hardest thing to keep living. I guess you somehow find the strength because you HAVE to but my god, I cannot imagine going on if I lost one of my kids. I hope I never know that pain or loss. I don't know that I would be strong enough to survive it.

Re: Amazing - story from the mother of Emilie Parker (one of the little girls taken in Sandy Hook)
I think about those parents, the ones waiting in the nearby firehouse for their children who never came. It is in that moment I think I would've lost it. That very moment , when all of the children who could, have come, and they were alone....their child never came. I honestly COULD NOT come back from that, the moment they knew without anyone having to tell them.
God bless her for being such a strong woman and for seeing the beauty in the memory of her daughter, even through her loss. It is a reminder to cherish the simple things in life bc sometimes the simplest are the most profound.

It hurt me to read that but I do believe that was her sweet daughter and they do say when a butterfly lands on you it means a loved one is trying to reach you. I think this tragedy and the poor babies and teachers will forever be on my mind. I think of it often. We are coming up on 1 yr very soon and I'm dreading for these poor families

Re: Amazing - story from the mother of Emilie Parker (one of the little girls taken in Sandy Hook)
I read the moms blog a lot of times. Her Emilie reminds me so much of my Emily with the big blue eyes and long blonde hair. I don't know how you go on after losing your baby. She is truly a remarkable woman. I think about those children all the time and I always pray for their parents. After that happened I really have tried harder to be a kinder person.

Re: Amazing - story from the mother of Emilie Parker (one of the little girls taken in Sandy Hook)
I often also think of Katie Flynn, the little girl from LI that was killed in the limo accident with the drunk driver. I remember seeing her parents on a talk show and how they talked about not being able to keep themselves strong for their remaining children. I often think of them and wonder how they are doing so many years later.
So so tragic. I recall Emilie's story, her dad speaking and wonder what must it be like for them to go on.

My sister is friends with one of the families that lost a child....and she and I were having that same conversation after it all happened. That the only reason the parents could go on was because there was another child in the picture. I only have one child....and, as cliche as it is, she's my world. I would be destroyed if anything were to happen to her. Heartbreaking.

I often think of Avielle Richman and her parents. She was an only child whose father kept a blog of her adventures. I wonder how they can be so strong and amazing. Her parents are trying to research for clues to violence in the brain.
