Amazon Mom - the free Amazon PRIME shipping that comes with it - please answer this before I lose my head!

I'm reading on Amazon's page and it says:

Prime Shipping Benefit
Amazon Mom members receive up to a year of free Amazon Prime shipping benefits. Your first three months are free, and for each $25 you spend on products in the Baby Store, within a single order, we'll grant you an additional month of Amazon Prime shipping benefits. To determine whether your purchase qualifies, we will total the prices of the items in your order as displayed in your Shopping Cart (i.e., not including any sales tax, shipping or gift wrapping charges and prior to the application of any promotional discounts on the detail page, such as coupons and the Subscribe & Save discount). You can earn up to one year of free shipping benefits from the date you joined Amazon Mom. You will be credited when qualifying items in your order ship. So as an Amazon Mom member, if I spend $25 in applicable baby stuff in one order, they will give me 1 month of free PRIME, right? I've gotten two or 3 months free before and they will give you up to 1 year free.

So I placed an order for diapers and paid $30. I didn't get the free month of prime. This is my second time calling Amazon and the rep is insisting that Amazon MOM and Amazon PRIME are the same thing???? And that I would just have amazon MOM extended for another month (although amazon mom is FREE ). I asked for a supervisor and she at first insisted that she's explaining it to me. I said, well either you're not understanding me or I'm not understanding you, so I'd prefer if a supervisor explained it to me in a different way.

Am I off here? So effing annoying.

I think Amazon Mom and Prime are 2 different things. But, I also remember that you only have a specific amount of time during which to make enough $25+purchases to qualify for up to 1 yr of free Prime. I believe that once you earn your free Prime months, that's it, you don't keep earning more Prime months just bc you made a $25 purchase on Amazon Mom.

We earned the max number of months of free Prime, 1yr. I was under the assumption that after the yr of free Prime expires, we'd have to pay the membership fee to continue to be in the Prime program.

Maybe they changed things, I don't know. I hope so though bc UPS is at my house 3xweek with Amazon and Baby purchases, literally.

I think there is a set time limit to purchase to get the free prime.

I just had a second baby and live in manhattan so we buy amazon items multiple times a week. I don't think they ever tell me that they renewed my prime but I always get free shipping.

you only get up to 1 year of free amazon prime and the total has to be over $25 before taxes. i usually get an email that my order is going to be shipped and then within a day i get an email that says they extended it.

i believe if you log into your account you can see when your amazon prime expires.

but amazzon mom and amazon prime are 2 different things.

I know that once my free prime is up, i am going to cancel it and have my DH sign up to get the free benefits again. especially with the whole losing the 2 day shipping thing.

Amazon Mom and Amazon Prime are different programs, so the rep has that wrong. I have exceeded my one year extension so now whenever I order something from the baby store over $25, i don't get the email stating it has been extended. I thought it was because I get one year free and that is it.

They changed the plan. You use to get free two day shipping with Amazon Mom. Every time you ordered a certain item, you got another month of free 2 day shipping on certain items..Now with Amazon Mom, you can get 30% off with the subscribe and save program. If you want the 2 day shipping, you lose 15% off the 30%... I just ordered a box of diapers. I got 30% off and regular free shipping... They should be here after Memorial Day. Amazon is usually pretty quick with most of their deliveries..
