American Academy of Pediatrics
I guess that's what you call it. The "higher ups" that tell you what you should do with your child.
Do you follow it practically word for word??
Personally, I listen to the ped., have a few books...but I am not up on their info. like the back of my hand. i think it's make me crazy b/c they change their mind so often.

I don't follow all of their guidelines to a T, but I like to think they are set in place for a reason and do the best that I can.

Re: American Academy of Pediatrics
No.
I take my parenting cues from my children and from common sense. I use 'expert' advice as a guideline - but not as a hard and fast rule by any stretch. I don't take too many chances with health issues - like you wouldn't catch me giving my baby honey before he is a year old. But there are other things that I took some liberties with - like using a walker, introducing solids before he was technically 'ready', etc..
