Re: Amneo?

My understanding is that they recommend taking it easy for a few days after the amnio.

Re: Amneo?

She should go home and rest. The dr is probably going to tell her to go home and rest with her feet up. I had one done with DS and that is what I had to do.

Re: Amneo?

When I had my amnio and was told that I need to be on bedrest for 72 hours. No lifting anything! And I had to truly rest. I actually stretched out to 4 days and feel that I needed all of that time to relax and heal for the safety of me and the baby.

Re: Amneo?

The doctor will give her instructions as to what he feels she should do. He'll likely want her to rest.

My OB wanted me to relax for a day or two. I took 3 days to relax (DH took off from work to help with our DD). The day I had mine done, I had mild cramping afterwards that lasted the rest of the day. By the next day I felt fine.

Re: Amneo?

I chose to have one as part of the *advanced maternal age* workup.

Re: Amneo?

I had one. I was told to rest for 2 days. so I did. I should have rested for 3 days. I did too much too fast.

Re: Amneo?

I was told to rest the remainder of the day and the following day (meaning stay off my feet).

Re: Amneo?

At the time only screening was done and my numbers came back off for down's, etc. so my OB sent me for one. Everything was fine with DS. I also requested that the genetic counselor give me the results in 48 hours (which are 90% correct) instead of over a week.

Re: Amneo?

The 1st 24 hours are crucial. I was told to go home and be off my feet. She might have mild cramping. The told me to rest for 48 hours.

I stayed in bed for 2 days and only got up to go to the bathroom. On the 3rd day, I just took it easy at home.
