Amnio as it relates to "early" delivery...
So, the Beeps is breech. I'm just about 36 weeks, and every OB I've seen has said that if he stays breech by 36-37 weeks, they would schedule a C, and probably deliver me a week or two early.
Question is...do they have to do an amnio to deliver me at 38 weeks? Or, do they just consider me full term at that point?

You are full term at 37 weeks.
Unless there is some reason (lung maturity being a biggie) they do not have to do an amnio. I was induced at 39 weeks and my DS was tiny (they were afraid of IUGR) I never had an amnio

I don't think you would need an amnio. Due to the GD however, my Drs. practice will not let me go to my due date and as of right now, will induce me a week earlier at 39 weeks. It was mentioned to me though that there's a greater risk with babies of GD moms that the baby's lungs are slower to mature than babies born to moms without GD. I don't really know how much truth there is in that, but that's what the GD nurse told me at the perintologist. But I think you are okay at 38 weeks and wouldn't need an amnio.
