Amusing a 3 mth old...

Hi, My DD is 12 weeks and is not a napper...I am trying to work from home and amuse her at the same time...will have a mothers helper soon but just wondered if any of you have any recommendations for toys etc that might amuse her now.

TIA

It only worked for us for a little while, but I've heard raves about Baby Einstein DVD's (affectionately called baby crack on here). At this point something like that would hold her attention for a bit.
At that age, Christopher really enjoyed things that made noise. Can't recommend anything specific though.

I just bought Roman (also 12 weeks) the gymini kick and play and he loves it. Also, he likes watching Baby Einstein in his swing, and will sit in his Bumbo seat for short intervals.

Re: Amusing a 3 mth old...

Thanks for the replies. Are you worried about them watching T.V so young? I havent tried playing DVD's for her as I thought it was bad for her eyes at this stage, maybe when she is bigger. I did buy her the baby einstein CD's and she listens to them but as you can imagine they dont hold her attention for too long either.

She does like the sound of the vacuum cleaner so maybe I will buy a recording of that....

I love the idea of the bumbo seat as I think she likes to see what is going on...dont know about her holding her head up for so long though....maybe I will buy one and try it out.

Thanks a lot.

Gosh, wish I could be of help...being that my DS didn't like napping either... all he was entertained by was "my lap". I couldn't get anything done. I am getting a mothers helper too for the month of July, cant wait....it really can't get here soon enough!

Do you have the mat/gym? that is 1 possiblity...Chat Icon

I have a play mat and she will do 10 mins on that, 10 mins in the bouncy chair and 10 mins in the swing!!!LOVES being held ...I guess some babies are more needy than others?? or else I have spoiled her already!!!

I also would suggest the Baby Einstein DVD's. I put my son quite far from the TV, maybe 4-5 feet. There is a lot going on on the screen and it just keeps their attention. I don't think its anyworse for their eyes then looking at a brightly colored mobile would be.

But then again, I am a terrible mother Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Amusing a 3 mth old...

at 3 months my son LOVED the baby einstein dvd's. He would watch in his swing for as long as I let him and his eyes were always glued to the tv.
