Amy Smart and HGTV's Carter Oosterhouse Are Engaged

Amy Smart is enjoying another benefit of being green: Her fiancé.

The Just Friends star and HGTV's Carter Oosterhouse are engaged, reports Us Weekly. The couple met at a green-charity event in November 2010.

Smart, 35, confirmed the happy news at an Earth Lovers in Celebration of Earth Day event in New York on Thursday and called the engagement "very new" and "very exciting." According to one source, Oosterhouse, 34, proposed earlier this week in Los Angeles.

Smart is best known for her big-screen roles in The Butterfly Effect, Varsity Blues and Road Trip. She recently guest-starred on Showtime's Shameless.
