ANC Manicure
Has anyone gotten this type of manicure? How long did it last? Did it destroy your nails? I paint my nails frequently since they break when not painted.

Re: ANC Manicure
Is this the powder gel? If so I hate it. It made my nails thicker and wider than they actually were. It felt like I had annoying fake nails on. It didn't last as long as a regular gel manicure and when I took it off my nails were destroyed. I had it done in Oct and certain nails are still not the same. peeling, splitting, won't grow at all.
Stick with the regular gel mani IMO

Its the dip powder. What ppl don't realize its actually acrylic without the smell. I got the sns once and didn't love the texture. Something was off about it. And they were rock hard. Impossible to get off

Thanks!
I might try the regular gel then. I'd like my polish to last longer than a day.
Can you remove the gel at home or do you need to do it in a salon?

You can remove at home. You need pure acetone...not regular polish remover....soak a cotton ball in it, place on the nail and wrap in foil. Leave on for about 20 min. After that it should come right off with a little scrapping with a wooden manicure stick. If it's still not coming off easy leave it on longer

If you file off the top shiny layer it comes off much easier

I had SNS once- hated it. You can't just get a fill in, you have to soak off every time which sleeves me to no end. I get uv gel for special occasions

Re: ANC Manicure
Didn't realize this is the powder gel till I read the comments but since it is.... yes I did it a few weeks ago. I actually liked it a lot but at the end of the 2 week mark I didn't like they were growing in at the base. I know that's not related to the powder gel and would happen either way...... so I guess what I'm saying is I don't think these long lasting "can go 2-3 week" gel manicures are for me. I just wish the regular ones lasted longer like solid week would be nice.
I got a regular mani on Wednesday and I'm already ready for another.

Re: ANC Manicure
I have it now. I don't do it all the time. There is NO UV light and the removal is better than gel. you have to soak on the foil but there it wipes off opposed to scraping. it is laid on a little thicker but if they do it right, it should look more natural.

I just had this done last night for the first time. I feel like my thumb nails look wide, the other nails are okay. She did a good job making them not look thick and I actually like that there is some heaviness to them, hoping it will last 3 weeks before they need to be redone. The only real negative I have is that I didn't love the color choices, they were blah to me.

Yes the thumbs were definitely wide! And I felt the others were a bit wide too. Like I had issues typing and had to get used to them. The thing is, they did NOT last even the 2 weeks. They were so heavy and thick they started to get hairline cracks in the polish and those cracks got worse and worse until they started cracking off. This was in October- I was just looking at a few of my nails today and they just wont' grow. They constantly peel and break, they are very soft. Not all but I'd say 4 out of 10. I really think I somehow damaged my nail beds when they peeled off

yes file the top of the nail first to rough it up.it breaks the seal. then soak in the acetone / foil wrap.
