And a tip along the lines of child abduction...

We are teaching my DS about strangers etc....

I recently saw a TV program saying that you should teach your child to wrap themselves around something large if a predator tries to abduct them...

The example they gave was a child on a bicycle - If the child wraps themselves around a bicycle, a predator will have too hard of a time getting them into a car and it will be too much of an effort to take that child...We all know kids can have "death" grips when they don't want something taken away from them , so this is definately something that would work !

Also, ofcourse screaming ( they do that very well also) "YOUR NOT MY MOMMY?DADDY etc" ...Not just yelling- specifically stating that the person taking them is not a parent- So that they're screams are not ignored by others thinking it is simply a child having a tantrum

This is scary to think about but is a neccessity !

Very good advice! To add to that...if your child ever gets lost in a store, tell them to find another Mommy with kids to help him/her find their Mom. I've been told that it is generally safer to approach another mom with kids than a stranger without kids...
