can you re refridge breast milk? say they only took 1 out of 2 oz. can you reuse?

I doChat Icon It is like gold to me so I don't want to waste it.

In the NICU the nurses told us you can reuse it but in the hospital they don't.

I don't think so....once they have had ANY of a formula bottle....they get one hr to finish it....

WHY? because their saliva gets into the bottle and starts to break it down

BM, I'm not sure of....I only pumped 6 weeks and 2-3 x a day which was enough for 1 bottle a day.

I actually called the lacatation consultant about this right after I got out of the hospital and she said it was ok.

I ashamed to say it, but I keep my bottles of BM going for ages because Noah is a snacker...I usually go by smell, it has quite a distinct smell if it has been out for too long. If it smells okay, keep using it!
