And now I know why 2 people should go with a newborn in the car!
As SOON as we got on the parkway - both to and from the beach - her pacifier fell out of her mouth. And so the screaming would begin.
Good thing we are close to the beach!
Anyone have any tips on how to keep those things in their mouths?? DH suggested duct tape...

Thats why I stopped giving him the pacifier - it would fall out in the car, in the middle of the night, and retrieving it became such a nuisance, I figured he should just get used to not having it - and it helped.
I remember posting the same thing after he was born
I know you were joking about the duct tape (I posted the same thing - I should duct tape the friggin thing to his mouth) but did you hear the story about the mother of a 4 mt old that actually did it?

I just don't give him the paci in the car.
DS is a little speed demon. He fusses when the car slows down or stops.
I find myself "rocking" the car a little with the brake when I'm stopped at a long light.

Christopher too.
I have a bear/dog (b/c no one knows which it is) with a string and velcro that goes around the paci, then I can reach back (he is in the center) and pop it in when he needs it.

Ugh I hate the paci for that reason alone! I've actually gotten pretty good at reaching back there and popping it back in though. Today I actually had to pull over into a parking lot, get out, and put it back in. Such a pain! She just screams for it though!
DS is the designated binky boy when he is in the car.

I always have extras in my pocket book up front. It's a little harder to reach now with her seat on the passenger side but I will pretty much stand up in my truck at a traffic light and give it to her. And I sing the ABC's in the meantime.

DH does that when we are at a light -- braking to make the car rock...
I can't reach her seat!! Wish I could!! I wish she'd get her thumb - but then again, you can never "throw out" the thumb, can you??
