Angel Cares Monitor
Is it Really worth the $$.
All the books I have ( baby bargains, and Baby 411 etc) say its not worth the money. That it doesnt prevent SIDS.
Not sure if I should bother with it?
Thanks again.

Re: Angel Cares Monitor
I think it is def worth the money. Even if it doesn't prevent SIDS, it sure gave me piece of mind once he started sleeping on his stomach.
Def worth it for us!

Re: Angel Cares Monitor
I am a SIDS mommy and I have it. But to prevent SIDS it would be useless. It has been said that SIDS babies can not be revived. Which I believe because my son was wide awake in DH's arms and he started CPR right away and it didn't save him. But I have talked to soooo many SIDS parents that felt extreme guilt for not finding there baby dead untill the morning. They still ask themselves "what if I got to him when he quit breathing?". But if there is another reason that your child quit breathing like if they are suffacating then they could be revived and the machine would save there lives. I think its worth it! Now that I can't keep DD in one spot and she sleeps so still I get false alarms so I just quit using it. But it did give me peace of mind.

IMO, no, totally not worth it. I didn't get it and I really don't see a need for it.
I hear about the false alarms on here all the time. I think that would freak me out more than anything.
Some people feel it gives them peace of mind. For me it would do the opposite with all the false alarms!

Re: Angel Cares Monitor
Totally not worth it. I got it for both the boys and never used it once. I now just use the monitors. Literally i was too tired in the beginning to even think of it. I just can't get myself that worked up about it to use it.

Re: Angel Cares Monitor
Sorry, I wasn't trying to make anyone feel sorry for me. I just wanted to share that I don't think it can save a SIDS baby. Sorry if that came off as "poor me". thanks for the !

Re: Angel Cares Monitor
I used it with my second (I wish I knew about it with my first). Though it doesn't PREVENT SIDS, it gave me peace of mind every night. HEaring the ticks made me feel that he was OK. Plus I also use a video monitor (I have 2...and yes. my 5 year old is still on it ). But those video monitors don't really let you see their little chests rising and falling. I am/as paranoid, so the Angel Care Monitor was great for me.

Re: Angel Cares Monitor
Thanks for the opinions. I think I might leave it on the registry and then hope to get it.
Oh and Amanda- In no way did I perceive your post as poor me, and no one else Im sure did either, so dont think that ever! Not to say though that you CANT say poor me, because if anything in this world is tragic , it would surely be the death of your son and the strength you show now about it is amazing. So thank YOU for your opinion as well on a subject matter so close to home for you
